It was strange, to witness the joy and love in this young woman's heart, and perhaps not an unwelcome remedy for his decades of cynicism. After receiving a small taste of her friendship and unconditional support, Heph has started developing a little more hesitation in throwing his life away.

Heph and Sidurgu clash in Ishgard in the wake of Fray's death and Heph's abandonment of Nimna. They travel together as Heph walks the path of the Dark Knight and the two grow close whilst protecting Rielle. However, despite these feelings, neither of them act on it as they both understand that their respective duties to their charges come first. When Heph decides to returns to Nimna, they still agree to maintain contact.
